2RS bearings have two rubber seals and are lubricated for life, keeping dust and moisture out with no relubrication — best for most general use. ZZ bearings have two metal shields, offering lower friction and higher speed but less moisture protection. Open bearings have no seals and allow maximum speed with easy relubrication.
Measure three dimensions in millimetres: the bore (inner diameter), the outer diameter, and the width (thickness). Always measure the bore across its inner opening, the outer diameter across the outside ring, and the width as the total thickness. These three figures identify almost every standard bearing.
